<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To give natural expression to music data by imparting cyclic variation to sound volume by easy operation. <P>SOLUTION: When specification of an expression imparting section, i.e. a specified section is accepted and "variation processing for sound volume" is selected as a kind of expression imparting, a cycle, a level variation quantity, a variation curve kind, the direction of a start, etc., are set through "selection of a variation pattern" and "setting of a combined waveform", and a sound volume variation pattern based upon the set values is generated.
