<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent rotation of a steering wheel in a low vehicle speed area due to abnormal currents of a variable gear ratio actuator, and preventing a sense of incongruity given to a driver. <P>SOLUTION: According to this steering device for a vehicle, an abnormal current processing part 11 comprises an abnormal current compensation map setting a current compensating gain according to a vehicle speed, and a VGRS current-to-EMPS current converting part 13 multiplying a current compensating gain G by a compensating current value. The abnormal current compensating map is constituted to set the current compensating gain to negative when the vehicle speed is not more than a low vehicle speed threshold, and to set the current compensating gain to negative when the speed exceeds the low vehicle speed threshold value. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
