<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a pulse-wave radar apparatus capable of realizing a distance resolution, according to the distance from the pulse-wave radar apparatus to an object. <P>SOLUTION: This pulse wave radar apparatus calculates the distance to the object, by measuring the time from the emission of a pulse transmitting wave to the receipt of a pulse-receiving wave reflected by the object. The signal level, corresponding to the time from the emission of the pulse transmitting wave to the receipt of the pulse receiving wave reflected by the object, is amplified nonlinearly so that the amplification degree is increased, when the signal level is low and the amplification degree is reduced, when the signal level is high. According to this, the quantization level to be assigned in an A/D conversion is assigned more to a value with a short measuring distance. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
