PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a U-shaped lock which is simple in structure and smoothly operable for locking/unlocking. SOLUTION: The U-shaped lock is a combination of a lock body which has lock holes formed in an upper surface thereof, and cylinder lock mechanism built therein with a keyhole exposed to the outside; and a U-shaped bolt rod which has locking recesses formed at lower inner sides thereof. Then a rotary lever having a pair of engaging projections erected therefrom is fitted on an inner end of the cylinder lock mechanism, and a pair of right and left sliding levers each of which has an energizing spring to withdrawably protrude its front end in the lock hole under normal conditions, are interposed between the engaging projections and the lock holes. Further each locking recess formed in the bolt rod is engaged with the front end of the sliding lever, and a key is pulled out of the cylinder lock mechanism, to thereby set the U-shaped lock.
