PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide inexpensive bulky book paper which uses a bulking agent and can resist to real use including printing and bookmaking without excessively adding a chemical. SOLUTION: This bulky book paper using the bulking agent is characterized in that a water-absorbing capacity measured by Cobb method is 70 to 350 g/m<SP>2</SP>.
