The originality seal is for containers which have a plastic lid (10) which has a locking tab (18) gripping beneath an edge flange of the container and bounded by design break points (20) on two sides. The lid consists of a film and outside the locking tab has one or more locking protrusions (30) which grip under the edge flange of the container by a lesser degree than the locking tab. The locking tab grips under the edge flange by a curvature (24) with a depth lying within the region of 2-3 mm. An independent claim is included for a thermoforming tool for the manufacture of a lid with the proposed originality seal.
