<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the detection performance of a fine calcified shadow by reducing the detection of a pseudo fine calcified shadow. <P>SOLUTION: The candidate points 120 of the fine calcified shadow are detected, and a group of candidate points 121 where the detected candidate points 120 appear in a series in a neighboring area is extracted as a calcified cluster.
