<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a high-safety antiallergic composition that includes an edible plant, butterbur, as a raw material and can be used for prophylaxis and therapy of allergic diseases. <P>SOLUTION: The antiallergic composition includes an extract of butterbur with a solvent. The raw material for extraction is collected preferably from the on-ground part of the butterbur plant. The extraction solvent is moisture ethanol and desirably the concentration of the ethanol is 40 to 90 % (wt/wt). In a preferred embodiment, the antiallergic composition can be further combined with one kind or two or more kinds of solvent extracts selected from beefsteak plant, lemon balm, sweet tea, Psidium, pollen, black rice, litchee and rose flower. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
