<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tong for a child seat capable of easily and reliably connecting right and left tong plates to each other, and a child seat having the tong for the child seat. <P>SOLUTION: A tong 10 for a child seat has a pair of right and left tong plates 20 and 30 disconnected/connected to each other. Magnets 21 and 31 to attract and connect the tong plates 20 and 30 are provided on the plates. Opposed faces of holding parts 23 and 33 of the right and left tong plates 20 and 30 form straight-shaped guide faces 23a and 33a tightly overlapping each other.
