<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To suppress an effect of motor cogging and to stably drive a carriage by utilizing the fact that the cogging periodically occurs in carriage driving to apply a correction table in an amount of one cycle cogging to all coggings. <P>SOLUTION: An inkjet recording device makes recording by making a carriage with a recording head installed thereon scan on a recording medium. The device is provided with a driving mechanism to drive the carriage, a positional information generating means to generate positional information in a carriage scanning direction, and a driving speed calculating means to calculate a driving speed of the recording head according to the positional information.
