PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a battery pack that is designed to detect accurately battery temperatures while reducing extremely the power consumption notwithstanding battery temperatures are being detected during discharge. SOLUTION: In a battery pack, a series resistance 3 is connected in series to a temperature sensor 2 thermally connected to a secondary battery 1, and a protective circuit 4 detects battery temperatures from the changes in electric resistances of the temperature sensor 2. The protective circuit 4 includes a temperature measuring switch 7 connected in series to a series circuit for the series resistance 3 and the temperature sensor 2, a sample hold circuit 8 for detecting and holding voltages of a measuring point 6, and a timing circuit 9 that controls the timing when the sample hold circuit 8 holds the samples of detected voltages and the timing when changing over the temperature measuring switch 7 to ON position. In the battery pack, the timing circuit 9 changes over the temperature measuring switch 7 to ON/OFF at a fixed cycle, and temperatures of the battery are detected from the detected voltages that are sample held by the the sample hold circuit 8 at the timing when the temperature measuring switch 7 is being changed over to ON position.
