PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a facsimile machine and a printing control method for single-side/double-side printing in which printing is performed on one side of one leading page and printing is performed on double sides of documents after the second page when the page width is different only in the leading page and all the page widths of following documents are aligned in the case of printing on both sides of a document inputted from a scanner to the facsimile machine or a document received by the facsimile machine. SOLUTION: It is inputted whether received image information is to be printed on both sides and when double-side printing is instructed, the widths of all the pages of the image information are acquired. The acquired widths of all the pages of the image information are compared and when all the widths are equal, both-side printing is performed. When all the widths are not equal, it is confirmed whether the width is different only in the first page. When the width is different only in the first page, single-side printing is performed for the first page and both-side printing is performed for the second and following pages.
