PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a detection device which detects a magnetic field of a magnet moving along the surface of one part at the surface of the other part for a wall member made of both a nonmagnetic material and a steel material. SOLUTION: The detection device 2 comprises a detection device main body 31 in which a magnetic sensor 33 is placed within projections 314, 316B projecting on a bottom 313 and a bracket 41 for fixing the detection device main body to a wall member 11. The bracket comprises a depression 412 which has two end faces facing each other and is so formed that the projection can be inserted into between them and two leg sections 42a, 42b which are contiguous to the two end faces respectively to extend toward opposite direction each other in the axial direction and extend along one surface of the wall member in the direction perpendicular to the axial direction at the opposite end to the end faces. The projection is inserted into the depression to be detachably fixed to each other. The magnetic flux of the magnet captured in the leg sections is guided to the depression in a convergent manner.
