PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To solve the following problem: a conventional method for solving failure caused by pulsing needed more adequate man-hours because an independent map was used for each injection in a multi-injection to correct output timing of each start-up injection pulse. SOLUTION: By modeling a structure of an injector in a simple model, time required for each section is divided into Tds1, a primary period of time starting from when the injection pulse is generated until a valve starts to rise, Tds2, a secondary period of time until the valve completely opens, and Tds3, a tertiary period of time until a control room pressure, Pcc goes down to open valve pressure, Popn. Each period of time is calculated with a simple formula. Then an injection startup process holdup time, Tds is set up with sum of those periods. By using this calculation art, huge quantities of adequate data are no longer needed to calculate the injection startup process holdup time, Tds. Furthermore, adequate processing is available with lower man-hours by changing a compatible value in a part to be changed when a specification of the injector is partly changed.
