PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a shift lever device capable of preventing a connection pin from being detached even when a cover knob is not used when assembling a lever body with the knob. SOLUTION: A ring-shaped connection pin 24 with both ends opened is fitted from the outer side of a knob 16 into a slit 22 in a cylindrical part 20 thereof. Next, a lever body 12 is inserted in a fitting hole 20A formed in the cylindrical part 20, and a shift lever device is assembled by depressing a part fitted in the slit 22 out of the connection pin 24 into a slit 18 of the lever body 12. Since a pair of ribs 26 corresponding to both ends 24B of the connection pin 24 are protruded from the knob 16 integrally with the knob 16 in the expanding direction side of the connection pin 24, the movement of both ends 24B of the connection pin 24 is blocked when the lever body 12 is inserted in the fitting hole 20A and the connection pin 24 is expanded by the pressure from the lever body 12, and the degree of expansion of the connection pin 24 is regulated thereby.
