PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a bed apparatus which enables use of a storage part formed in a base without impairing the reclining function of a mattress. SOLUTION: The bed apparatus is provided with the box-shaped base 1 with an upper part opened for using the inside as the storage part 1a, the mattress 3 with one longitudinal end capable of being raised by hinge mechanisms 34 and linked to the base through link mechanisms 4 so as to turn an upper opening part of the base upward from a closing state to an opening state by the link mechanisms 4 without impairing rise and fall of the longitudinal end and gas springs 22 having one end and the other end pivoted to the base and the mattress so as to urge the mattress in a turning direction to open the upper opening of the base by its urging force.
