SIDE SPRAY DIVERTER VALVE

A side spray diverter valve with anti-siphoning and flow regulation of the water diverted to the spray head (22). A ported valve plunger (48) sliding in a sleeve (46) admits water from the inlet to the spout (12) in one position while a lower O-ring (83) seals the spray outlet (24). In the other position, the sleeve has axially directed ports (70) which screen and trap particulates in the water over a predetermined size. The flow rate of screened water to the spray is regulated by the lower O-ring (83) pressing against grooves (78) in the wall of the sleeve.
