<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To change between the stationary state where a rotation allowance amount of a steering member 1 is restricted and the special state not restricting it, and to enlarge steering function, in a steering device for a vehicle of a steer-by-wire system. <P>SOLUTION: The steering device for the vehicle is provided with a rotation restriction mechanism 15 capable of changing from a neutral position of the steering member 1 to the stationary state restricting left and right rotation allowance amount and the special state not restricting the rotation allowance amount of the steering member 1.
