摘要 <p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a sorter for accurately determining whether or not a sorting object is defective grains such as foreign matter assuming a milk-white color close to that of grains while avoiding the disadvantage of increasing the cost of the whole sorter by using a low-cost light receiving sensor as a light receiving means. <P>SOLUTION: This sorter includes a light projection means 24 for sorting to project light to the sorting object, with a grain group taken as the sorting object, a light reception means 25 for sorting to receive light from the sorting object, and a determination means for sorting to determine whether or not the sorting object is sort-defective grains on the basis of received light information detected by the reception means 25. The reception means 25 is structured so as to receive the light amount of light having a wavelength for defective grains determination in a domain of wavelengths shorter than 1100 nanometers by spectrally diffracting light from the sorting object.
