<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a light source device, equipped with a light-emitting element and capable of emitting natural luminous flux. <P>SOLUTION: The light source device 8R constituted by arranging a plurality of light-emitting elements for emitting the luminous flux regarded as single wavelength on a base plate 81 is equipped with several kinds of light-emitting elements 83R1 to 83R6 which emit luminous flux having different wavelengths. The number of light-emitting elements 83R1 to 83R6 is set according to the spectral distribution of transmitted luminous flux through a light transmissive filter, used for a image display device and transmitting the luminous flux in a prescribed wavelength region or the spectral distribution of the emitted luminous flux from a light source used for the picture display device, and the light-emitting elements are arranged on the base plate 81 at random.
