PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a control device of a transmission, keeping favorable positioning performance even in the case where the dynamic characteristic of the transmission is out of a previously estimated range. SOLUTION: A sliding mode controller 53 provided on a shift controller 50 is taken as a two-degree of freedom controller for independently specifying the follow-up characteristic and disturbance restrain characteristic of the actual position Psc of a shift arm to a target position Psc_cmd, and a control input Vsc to a shift motor of a shift mechanism is determined by the sliding mode controller 53. A sliding mode controller 55 provided on a select controller 51 is taken as a two-degree of freedom controller for independently specifying the follow-up characteristic and disturbance restrain characteristic of the actual position Psl of the shift arm to a target position Psl_cmd in the select direction, and a control input Vsl to a select motor of a select mechanism is determined by the sliding mode controller 55.
