PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an illumination control unit which, when photographing is carried out using an illuminating device, drives the illuminating device with a signal including no high frequency component of a rectangular wave signal, which reduces an influences of various noises. SOLUTION: The illumination control unit for imaging device includes an illuminating means for emitting light to a subject by receiving a sinusoidal wave signal or a half wave rectification waveform signal during an exposure period. The illumination control unit also includes a signal supply means for supplying the sinusoidal wave signal or the half wave rectification waveform signal to the illuminating means. The signal supply means includes: a rectangular wave signal output means; a waveform conversion means for outputting after making conversion into the sinusoidal wave signal in which the first and second half-sinusoidal waves obtained on the basis of the rectangular wave signal are connected or the half wave rectification waveform signal in which a signal with a third half sinusoidal wave obtained on the basis of the first half-sinusoidal wave and an off signal are connected; and a lighting means for supplying the sinusoidal wave signal or the half wave rectification waveform signal to the illuminating means via a transistor.
