PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an air-conditioner for a vehicle capable of preventing its compressor 16 from getting a dry lock when the vehicle and the air-conditioner left stopping for a long time are started. SOLUTION: Immediately after an engine 1 is started, a control device 2 performs a normal air-conditioning control upon operating the compressor 16 for the specified time t1 or more in cumulation within a certain speed range no higher than the prescribed revolving speed Ns irrespective of the setting of an operation switch 40. That is, the revolving speed to generate "the dry lock endurance time > one refrigerating cycle time" is taken up as the prescribed revolving speed Ns, and immediately after the engine 1 is started, the compressor 16 is operated for the prescribed time t1 or longer in cumulation within a certain speed range no higher than Ns, and thereby the condition is generated where the lubricating oil in a condenser 17 has made one circulation according to the refrigerating cycle R and got to the compressor 16. Therefore, no dry lock occurs thereafter because the lubricating oil is circulating even if the compressor 16 gets into the high rotation region with the normal air-conditioning control.
