PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To propose a management unit information acquisition device for enabling the rapid retrieval of desired content data. SOLUTION: Management unit information data showing a management unit in each hierarchy of at least a part of a hierarchy structure are required to a content management server 2 managing content data in a plurality of management units of the hierarchy structure, the management unit information data acquired as the result are recorded and held in a recording medium, and the hierarchy structure of the management unit shown by the management unit information data is reconfigured as a reconfiguration hierarchy structure. Thereby, the previously held management unit can be exhibited with the reconfiguration hierarchy structure in a lump without sequentially acquiring or exhibiting the management unit in each the hierarchy from a topmost hierarchy to the bottommost hierarchy to the hierarchy structure while communicating with the content management server 2 when retrieving the desired content data, so that the desired content data can be rapidly retrieved.
