PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To providing an automatic alongside-a-pier system for a vessel which is comparably low priced at the time of installation on the ship, capable of safely, quickly and automatically berthing at a pier, by only having to use the automatic berthing system in any port, when the vessel comes alongside a pier. SOLUTION: The automatic coming-alongside-a-pier system characteristically comprises at least two sets of imaging means for imaging the pier area to be approached, including landmark object; a display means for displaying images; a sample image setting means; a specific recognition means for recognizing an image as a land mark object for coming alongside a pier; a trucking recognition means; and a distance derivation means for deriving distance by the turning angle of the imaging means turning toward the landmark object for trucking the object which comes alongside the pier.
