PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To accurately feed a recording paper sheet to an image forming part at preset timings even in the degradation of the carrying capability of a carrying roller, while seizing an accurate replacement timing. SOLUTION: This image forming device determines the degradation of the carrying capability of the carrying roller 24 based on whether an errorΔT<SB>1</SB>between a time T<SB>1</SB>from starting the rotation of the carrying roller 24 to detecting the front end of the recording paper sheet by a sensor 78 and a target T<SB>s1</SB>is in an allowable range or not, and determines the degradation of the carrying capability of the carrying roller 28 based on whether an errorΔT<SB>2</SB>between a time T<SB>2</SB>from starting the rotation of the carrying roller 28 to detecting the front end of the recording paper by a sensor 80 and a target T<SB>S3</SB>is in an allowable range or not. When the errorΔT<SB>1</SB>and the errorΔT<SB>2</SB>are in the allowable ranges, a feed starting timing is corrected in accordance therewith to cover the degradation of the carrying capability.
