<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fuel cell system available for use in automobiles and capable of operating with high efficiency. <P>SOLUTION: The fuel cell system has a fuel cell (12), a combustor (34), and a heat-exchanging apparatus (32). The combustion chamber (34) is driven selectively with fuel and /or fuel cell exhaust gas.
