<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for producing a palladium-containing supported catalyst performing liquid phase oxidation of an olefin or an α, β-unsaturated aldehyde with a molecular oxygen to allow the α, β-unsaturated carboxylic acid to be produced in high selectivity. <P>SOLUTION: In the process for producing the palladium-containing supported catalyst by reducing palladium with a reducing agent in a suspension containing a palladium compound solution and a carrier, at least one of the following conditions is satisfied: (1) a mass ratio of an inorganic chlorine to palladium included in a raw material for preparing the suspension is 0.001 to 0.005, (2) a mass ratio of an inorganic chlorine to palladium included in the solution portion of the suspension before reduction is 0.0005 to 0.0025, and (3) a mass ratio of an inorganic chlorine to palladium adsorbed to the carrier included in the suspension before reduction is 0.002 to 0.01. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
