<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a vehicle headlamp using LED chip as a light source in which a plurality of light distribution patterns can be formed with a simple and small-sized structure. <P>SOLUTION: The vehicle headlamp 10 includes at least a light emitting part 11 composed of at least one LED 11a and an optical shielding part 12 which cuts off a part of the light irradiated toward the front from the above light emitting part and forms a cut-off suitable for light distribution patterns of the vehicle headlamp. The optical shielding part 12 is constructed of an electro-optic element equipped with light control function and a control part 14 for light controlling the electro-optic element. By the electric switching control of the electro-optic element of this control part, the light control portion is selectively light controlled and the shape of the light distribution patterns is made to change. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
