PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To elongate the life of a photoreceptor belt of an image forming apparatus by making skew prevention guides, which restrains skew of a photoreceptor belt in the direction of thrust, conductive and abutting grounding brushes against the guides, thereby preventing damages to nickel used for the photoreceptor belt. SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus has developing units (5C, 5M, 5Y, and 5K) for four colors, cyan, magenta, yellow, and black. The image forming apparatus also has a drive roller 11, a driven roller 12, and a tension roller 13 which rotate and transport a photoreceptor belt 1. The frame of the photoreceptor unit is made of metal. Skew prevention guides 16 are disposed on both sides of the photoreceptor belt 1 in the direction in which the belt 1 is driven. The material of the skew prevention guides 16 of the photoreceptor belt 1 is made of a conductive material, and a grounding brush 15 is disposed in contact with each skew prevention guide 16.
