OPTICAL BIDIRECTIONAL MODULE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical bidirectional module with high performance at a low price by maximizing diffraction efficiency at different diffraction orders with respect to light beams of different wavelengths. SOLUTION: The optical bidirectional module 10 comprises a light emitting device 11 for sending the light signals toward the terminal of the optical fiber, a light receiving element 12 for receiving the light signals from the terminal of the optical fiber, and a stepped grating 15; when multiplexing/demultiplexing light signals with different wavelengths in bidirectional fiber-optic communications by a wavelength multiplexing system in an opposite direction with respect to the terminal of an optical fiber 1. The module is configured such that the stepped grating separates a first optical path between the terminal of the optical fiber and the light emitting device from a second optical path between the terminal of the optical fiber and the light receiving element by the different wavelength of each light signal.
