PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To test a power transmission system including a power source by imparting proper generation torque of a dynamometer. SOLUTION: The testing device for power transmission system comprises a dynamometer connected with the power transmission system via a shaft for generating the torque to the shaft or for generating the torque to the output shaft of the power source by simulating the power source; the velocity detection means 4 for detecting the actual velocityωof the dynamometer; and the control means 5 for estimating the velocity of the dynamometer as a model of one inertial system, for estimating the shaft torque of the shaft by integrating ratio gain G to the deviation between the estimated velocityω' and the actual velocityω, or for controlling the inertial amount of the dynamometer viewed from the power source based on the estimated shaft torqueτ<SB>S</SB>' or the generation torqueτ<SB>L</SB>of the dynamometer so as to make the inertial amount J<SB>L</SB>of the power source simulated by the dynamometer turn into desired inertial amount J<SB>x</SB>.
