PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a means for easily and efficiently executing belt tension adjusting work in a power transmitting device comprising a belt driving device. SOLUTION: This belt tension adjusting device comprises a supporting mechanism for rockably fastening a device 11 in the belt tension adjusting direction, on a shaft part in parallel with a driving shaft 12 of the device, as a supporting point, a fixing mechanism for fastening an oscillating side of the device 11 to a belt tension adjusting position, and a ladder-type implement 40 for adjusting belt tension. The ladder-type implement 40 comprises an engagement part 45 with a bolt 13 (or nut) for fastening the supporting mechanism, and an engagement part 46 with a fastening implement, positioned coaxially with the engagement part 45, on its rotatable socket 43 forming a supporting point of the ladder, and comprises an engagement part 47 with a bolt 16 (or nut) for fastening the fixing mechanism, an engagement part 46 with a fastening implement 55 positioned coaxially with the engagement part 47, and a handle part 48 forming a power point of the ladder on its rotatable socket 44 forming a point of action of the ladder.
