PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a roof material which has a plurality of ribs formed on a rear side of a roof material (tile) body, wherein the roof material is further improved in strength. SOLUTION: In the roof material A having a corrugated front surface 1 that sharply continues toward an eaves edge, the rectangular roof material body 2 having the waveform front surface 1 has the plurality of ribs 17 (17a to 17g) formed on the rear surface thereof. Each rib vertically extends and has a height that is sufficient for abutting on an upper surface 16 of a roofing board 15. Herein, an interval between the ribs 17 of the roof material body 2 in the vicinity of each of a wave crest 18 and a wave trough 19 of the waveform is narrower than an interval of the same in the other area, and therefore the strength of the roof material A and the roof material body 2 forming the same can be improved without increasing the number of ribs 17, the length of each rib, etc. COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI
