The break in protection for a motor vehicle lock consists of a lever connected (11) to the support (12) for the Bowden cable sheath (9) on the lock housing. The lever is actuated by tampering with the Bowden cable sheath to operate the lock. The lever can be actuated by movement of the sheath support with respect to the lock. Alternatively, the support can be electrically connected to the lock.
