<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance printing quality, even if a printer body does not possess the following function, by creating ink color data such that an outer peripheral part of a character is printed in K ink alone and such that the inside of the character is printed in process black, and transmitting the ink color data to a printer, when black character data are transmitted to a printer driver from an application. <P>SOLUTION: A printing system and a printing control method are characterized in that the printing system comprises: a means for creating mask data by rasterizing character data when the character data exist in a printing command received from the application, and when a character color of the character data is black, at the stage of the creation of printing data in a host computer; a means for detecting the outer peripheral part of the rasterized character data; a means for creating the printing data specified so that the outer peripheral part of the detected character data can be printed in a K ink color alone; and a means for creating the printing data which are specified so that a part except the outer periphery of the detected character data can be printed in the process black using the K ink and CMY ink. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2005,JPO&NCIPI |
