FLAME-RETARDANT RESIN COMPOSITION AND ELECTRIC WIRE/CABLE USING THE SAME

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a halogen-free flame-retardant resin composition which is excellent in flame retardance and can inhibit seam crack.

SOLUTION: The flame-retardant resin composition comprises 100 pts.wt. polyolefin resin and 60-200 pts.wt. metal hydrate having a BET specific surface area of 10.0-12.0 m2/g and further comprises 1-25% polyorganosiloxane with a high polymerization degree added to the metal hydrate. In addition to characteristics inherent in the base resin, a high flame retardance and inhibition of seam crack can be achieved.
