<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To guarantee sufficient optical diffusibility in the horizontal direction of a projector type head light, and to prevent an hindrance from being caused in miniaturization and weight reduction or the like, resulting from the guarantee. <P>SOLUTION: The projector type head light 1 is provided with a light source 2 and a reflecting mirror 3, and forms a predetermined light distribution pattern by using a projection lens 4. The shape of a horizontal cross section of a plane of incidence 4Si of the projection lens 4 is made to be a protruded curve 9 projecting out to sides of the light source 2 and the reflecting mirror 3, and made to have a function of refracting incident light and making it a beam of light parallel or approximately parallel to an optical axis when the light is assumed to have been emitted from the focus of the curve or a reference point.
