ELECTRON EMISSION ELEMENT AND IMAGE DISPLAY DEVICE

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an electron emission element small in diameter and having a structure capable of emitting a high intensity electron beam; and to provide an image display device using it.

SOLUTION: A fuel cell system of this application is so structured that each electron emission member area 6 has a plurality of fibers containing carbon; a cathode electrode 4 has at least one opening for exposing at least a part of a gate electrode 2; and the plurality of electron emission member areas 6 are arranged by facing them to one another by interposing the opening(s).
