<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a marking method for marking a display on a target such as a molding of a thermoplastic resin capable of inexpensively and simply marking a display and further capable of easily recycling defective products and used products, and to provide a marking method capable of further increasing the designing properties, e.g., of a portable telephone as a target by marking a display with a laser marking device. <P>SOLUTION: In the marking method, a display is marked on a target by a laser marking device (2), display data are fetched into a computer (21) for control, and a control signal is outputted to a laser scanning unit (22) from the computer (21) for control so as to mark a display on a target.
