PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a tool holder for shrink-fitting a rotary tool with a predominantly cylindrical shaft. SOLUTION: The tool holder comprises a chuck 13 having a clamp portion 14 equipped with a conical receiving hole 15 for receiving an insertion member 30 in the tool holder 10, a cylindrical inner hole 32 for receiving the shaft 12 of the tool, and the insertion member 30 equipped with a conical outside surface 31 received in the receiving hole 15 of the clamp portion 14. The insertion member 30 is pushed in an axial direction in the heated chuck 13 to be equipped on the chuck 13, and then, the shaft 12 of the tool is inserted.
