PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a weft-knitted fabric drawn with a picture pattern in the knitting process of using a picture yarn as a knitting yarn and knitting into the weft-knitted fabric by enabling the pattern matching of the picture pattern represented on the weft-knitted fabric by the picture elements of the picture yarn. SOLUTION: This method for knitting the knitted fabric is provided by arranging a temporarily engaging jig 13 for temporarily engaging knitting yarn 12 between the each of in a plurality of needles 11, 11 arranged on the weft-knitting machine with a prescribed needle gage N. The knitting yarn 12 is supplied to the temporarily engaging jigs 13, 13 by engaging at the temporarily engaging jigs 13, and adding a slackening lengthα(=L-N) caused by that the yarn supplying length L between each of the temporarily jigs 13, 13 becomes longer than the needle gage N. Then to all of the needles 11 making pairs with the arranged temporarily engaging jigs 13, the knitting yarn 12 is transferred from the temporarily engaging jigs 13 forming the pair in one bundle. Then, stitches (23) continuing in a plurality of course directions by the transferred knitting yarn 12 are formed at the same time by operating all of the needles 11 receiving the knitting yarn 12.
