PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make it possible to summarize a plurality of electronic documents by dividing common sections and differences by inputting the plurality of electronic documents, comparing the plurality of electronic documents, summarizing the plurality of electronic documents based on the comparison results, and outputting the result of the summary, when summarizing the plurality of the electronic document. SOLUTION: In a document summary method and system which summarize the electronic documents, the document summary method and system comprise; a document input means 1 which performs input of the plurality of electronic documents; a document comparison means 2 to compare the plurality of electronic documents inputted by the documents input means 1; a document summary means 3 to summarize the plurality of electronic documents inputted by the document input means 1 based on the result compared by the document comparison means 2; and a summary result output means output means 4 which outputs the result summarized by the documents summary means 3.
