PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the bad effect of the pixel which is not read when segmenting a pixel region. SOLUTION: When reading of pixel signal and resetting of a pixel with a part of an effective pixel region, only resetting of pixel is performed with a column containing no pixel for which pixel signal is read within the effective pixel region. Thus, all pixels in the effective pixel region are reset at prescribed respective timing, causing no pixel where electric charge is continuously accumulated with no resetting.
