PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a data transmitter capable of automatically setting signature information or address information without an error even when an associated table is not previously registered, and to provide a data transmission method, a data transmission program, and a data transmission program-recorded computer readable recording medium. SOLUTION: An MFP (Multi-Function Peripheral) as the data transmitter involves: acquiring hierarchical structure-user information on a data transmitter and hierarchical structure-user information on a data receiver (S201, S202); deciding the hierarchy of the address information and that of the signature information in accordance with a comparison result obtained by comparing the user information on the transmitter with the user information on the receiver (S203-S211); and preparing the address information and the signature information in accordance with the decision result (S212).
