PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce the number of times of necessary strippings and reducing the frequency of stripping the coated optical fiber 9. SOLUTION: The coated optical fiber is provided with an optical fiber 11, sliding fine particles 13, which are attached evenly and scatteringly on the outer peripheral surface of the optical fiber 11 and a clad 15, disposed on the outer peripheral surface of the optical fiber 11, according to extrusion method so as to cover the outer peripheral surface, while containing the sliding fine particles 13.
