PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce consumption of lubricating oil and abrasion, in a two-cycle internal combustion engine in which a piston 6 reciprocating in a cylinder 2 opens/closes openings of scavenging ports 7 to the cylinder 2 or openings of exhaust ports from the cylinder. SOLUTION: The openings of the scavenging ports 7 to an inner wall face of the cylinder or the openings of the exhaust ports thereto are formed in parts corresponding to areas 6a, 6b on right and left sides in an axial direction of a piston pin 12 out of an outer circumferential face of a piston 6, when seen from an axial direction 2a of the cylinder. Oil reservoir spaces 13 are formed between the cylinder inner wall face and the parts of the piston outer circumferential face and corresponding to the openings of the scavenging ports or exhaust ports. The lubricating oil is pushed out of portions between the cylinder inner wall face and areas 6c, 6d of the piston outer circumferential face on right and left sides with sandwiching an axis of the piston pin 12 therebetween, and then the lubricating oil flows into the oil reservoir spaces.
