PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a chain type excavation tool supperior in discharge of an excavation dust, while performing excavation work even in a dry state, without using water in excavation. SOLUTION: This excavation chain 5 is formed by endlessly connecting a pair of innner link plates 11 by using connecting pins 12, by alternately juxtaposing an inside link member 6 constituted by sandwiching a pair of substantially L-shaped support materials 10 for installing an excavation member 8 on an upper surface from both sides, and an outside link member 7 constituted by installing the excavation member 8 on an upper surface of a substantially U-shaped outside link bracket 9, so that both left and right sides of the inside link member 6 form the inside of the substantially U-shaped outside link member 7. The excavation member 8 is constituted of tip bracket 15 and 16 and an excavation tip 17 having a substantially triangular tip part. At least one or more of excavation tips 17, are constituted on an upper surface of the tip brackets 15 and 16 so as to be aligned and arranged in the same direction by turning the direction of both tip parts in the circulating direction of the chain.
