PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a spun yarn consisting of a polybenzazole fiber, exhibiting a low reduction of strength caused by being exposed under a high temperature and high humidity even after generating a kink band by damage to the yarn. SOLUTION: This spun yarn consisting of the polybenzazole fiber exhibits≥80% strength retension after being twisted at 30 twist factor and treated for 240 hr under the condition of 80°C and 80% relative humidity by incorporating an organic pigment having a high heat resistance with a thermal decomposition of≥200°C temperature, dissolvable in a mineral acid, and preferably having -N= and/or NH- group in its molecular structure, especially perinone and/or perylenes, phthalocyanines and quinaclidones in the yarn.
