PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily producible optical element having a crosslinked material exhibiting a chiral nematic phase having a circularly-polarized luminescence stabilized by crosslinking and provide a new compound having a plurality of crosslinking groups and a mesogen group having fluorescent property and useful for the production of the optical element. SOLUTION: The optical element has a crosslinked material formed from a composition containing a compound having a plurality of crosslinking groups and a mesogen group having fluorescent property and a chiral agent.
